There is a large chance, about 75% to 80%, that I will be posting that new photography project tomorrow.

So I ended up picking up my stuff on the friday morning, and ran into some huge issues when I got t the rents house. Turns out they didn't give me the umbrella reflectors I needed for the two floodlights, and that one of the floodlights decided not to work (even after changing the lightbulb). So I had one Floodlight and a background which I made myself out of 4 feet of black fabric and tacking it to the wall. Was awesome! The one light ended up being tricky to work with, but it did work and work well for the most part. I only have to edit a couple of the pictures and adjust the color balancing a tad bit. One or two are a little too yellow.

So again materials I used include:
1 Floodlight on an adjustable stand
Black fabric and pins to make my own re-usable backdrop/background
Olympus DSLR E-620
and a tripod
Large space (open basement area) to take the photos in

Type of lighting I used:
Lighting from the side, casting shadows on one half of the face while the other half is highlighted
Rembrandt Lighting, or Broad lighting (placing the main light on the side of the face toward the camera to widen the features to use mainly with narrow or thin faces)

NOTE:

- If you want to know more about lighting, or photography in general, go to prophotolife.com, or google pro photo life. A good book for any photographer to have (seriously its a must!!) Is Photography the Ninth Edition - London . Stone . Upton. This book cost about $160.00 in Canadian Dollars, but its a good
enough book that it touches on ALL subjects and areas of photography. Its like the photography bible.

-If you own your own camera, whether its a professional or a digital, etc. Your other handbook is the manual. It will show you, or tell you, as much as it can about the product you bought.

So I will be posting shortly, and possibly posting some paintings and sketches from the past year and a bit.
Enjoy
